The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, created by the U.S. Green Building Council, provides a collection of standards for the environmentally sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings and neighborhoods.

Perfection Architectural Systems potential LEED Credit Groups.

Credits  EA 1- Optimize Energy Performance- Sunshades when applied properly offer a opportunity to improve the energy performance of the building.

Credits MR 4.1 and 4.2 – Recycled Content. The recycled content of the aluminum billets used for the production of 6063 alloyed aluminum extruded Perfection Architectural System profiles, consists of approximately 60% scrap aluminum, of which 55% is post industrial press scrap and 5% post consumer. This complies to LEED’s requirement for recycled content (MR 4.1 and 4.2), and with ISO 14021- Environmental Labels and Declarations’, where the recycled aluminum content is greater than 50%.

Credits MR 5.1 and 5.2- Regional MaterialsIn order for materials to be eligible for Credits 5.1 and 5.2, They must not only be manufactured within 500 miles of the site, but must be built from materials that have been extracted, harvested, or recovered from within the same 500 miles. The US Green building Council allows for recycled content (or the % of recycled content) to count towards the regional credit for products used within 500 miles of where the secondary billet was cast and the final product fabricated.

Credits IEQ 8.1 Daylight and Views- Sunshades improve interior lighting and provide reduced glare for building occupants.

Please consult your LEED Specialist for project specific application of these credits.
